What's New? Whew!
We are now stocking Mushishi, which is a wonderful wool/silk yarn in huge skeins. By huge we mean 491 yard skeins! We're knitting an entrelac coat from Mushishi and are having a great time watching the colors. The coat pattern can be seen on our Patterns and Notions page.
For those of you who have been a fan of the color work featured in a certain line of yarns from Japan, I have to suggest that you come in and check out our new yarn Mochi. Mochi comes in both Mini Mochi sock weight and Mochi+ heavy worsted weight, from my good friends at Crystal Palace Yarns. Versatile and great to knit, Mochi combines those long runs of color changes you love with incredible soft texture. If you loved that sophisticated colorwork but wished for something less scratchy, you have to try new Mochi.
Hanne Falkenburg's newest design is now in stock. This is a short-sleeved cardigan that is worked sleeve to sleeve in a wave texture pattern. It is all one piece so the knitting is easy. You'll find that this sweater is very flattering. To see this new design, you can go to "Favorite Links" and take a look.
Part of our large fall order is in. We have the 16 oz Weaver's Wool in now in all of the new Hand-Painted Colors for this year and their new Harmony olors. The Harmony colors are hand-dyed in a way that give you subtle changes of color across the yarn. You need to see these new colors. The folks at Mountain Colors are working as fast as they can to get the new colors to us. As soon as the newest yarns arrive, we'll let you know.
We've just ordered Scarf In A Scarf which is their newest addition to their hand painted knitting yarns. This is a wool/silk blend yarn with a silk scarf dyed to match. You need to see this to believe how beautiful of a scarf you can knit.
The hottest new accessory to have! This delightful needle gauge (1-1/2" x 1-1/4") is a light weight gauge in several colors as beautiful as it is accurate. Gauges 0 - 17 US. Use it as a pendant on your favorite chain, as a key ring or bag charm. It even makes a useful zipper pull on your knitting notions bag. Show your knitting pride!
Beautiful glass needles (yes glass) and inventive. These circular needles are so smooth the yarn just glides over the surface. And for the lace knitters, the tips are just right for that lace yarn. The colors are many. Come see the variety.
Berroco has introduced two new yarns that we thought would be just great for the machine washable projects that you have in mind. Weekend - a soft acrylic and cotton blend, and Vintage - a soft acrylic and wool blend. Both of these are machine washable yarns that are great for babies and children.
We've just brought in the great FootPrints sock yarn from Blue Ridge. This sock yarn is an innovative pairing of two yarns, one multicolored hand-dyed yarn for the body of the sock and another smaller hank that is a kettle-dyed yarn in a different color that just makes these socks flash with color. You're going to have to knit a pair and then be prepared for all of the compliments that you're going to get. PLUS: As always we try to feature local favorites--foxes, hunting scenes, horses and dog themes you might not see elsewhere--in our store stock of needlepoint canvases. We do search high and low for these subjects, so please know that we have a wonderful collection with brand-new designs and new featured designers arriving often.
